I feel proud that my seniors and my members of the Association thought me capable enough to handle this position. I also realize that this appointment comes with lot of responsibilities and require hard work and dedication to do justice to all the trust the members have placed on me and I pray that I will be guided by almighty in discharge of my duties.
We are starting a new term with optimism, new vigour and our commitment to serve the fraternity amidst volatile international trade scenario.
I am working on drawing board to chart out several measures which needs attention for betterment / upliftment of our fraternity. Before I begin, I sincerely congratulate each and every colleague in the newly elected Managing Committee which comprises of blend of youth and experience.
This clearly demonstrates that the democratic process of elections is vibrant in BCBA and has its deep outreach with members. There are several focus areas that myself and the entire team is focused on pursuing and as always, our main attention is towards safeguard of Custom Brokers.
Representation to the Dept. for ensuring Custom Brokers are not held accountable for any interpretative disputes of their clients with Customs. We have sought feeback from members who have had such experience as it will help to make relevant representation to protect our members.
With advent of E-commerce, Artificial intellegence, Block chain, IOT, etc will play important dimension in our industry and Custom Brokers being important part of the logistics chain, will create new breed of enterpreneurship in our fraternity. We are committed to provide thought leadership for this aspect.
No sooner I took over, I have been getting various phone calls to improve the working conditions at the operating level for Custom Brokers and their employees. In order to make our representations specific and effective, I request all the members to provide their issues / feedback on regular basis to resolve issues effectively. I would further ask all members to provide their points for PTFC meetings, on regular basis.
There are several issues which require Joint Representation with Trade Chambers for bringing strategic changes in the business process that the EXIM trade undergoes. We have already initiated dialogue with Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industry , FIEO, FFFAI, ,CII, etc. for creating the effective platform to serve our members.
I assure members that our newly elected Managing Committee team is totally focussed on addressing the issues of members with various authorities. Personally, I am always available for each one of you and will be glad to work shoulder to shoulder with all members to create a respectable working environment for Custom Brokers.
